Signs of Ample and Harmonious Qi - Signs of Deficiency or Stagnation of Qi

“Signs of Ample & Harmonious Qi

Review the following list. If you recognize these signs as part of yourself, you have some of the qualities associated with ample and harmonious Qi:

* little or no pain
* normal blood pressure
* normal pulse rate and volume
* pink tongue
* feeling rested
* good stamina
* productive
* creative
* energetic
* humorous
* happy/peaceful
* imaginative, curious

     If you exhibit 6 or 7 of these qualities you have ample Qi.  Your Qigong practice will be geared less toward accessing and building Qi and more toward attaining the ability to manage Qi.  Ample Qi can help imbalances that you may find in the deficiency or stagnation list (below).  In this case an ounce of prevention is all you need to sustain your health.  However, many of you will be so fascinated with Qi cultivation, and the possibility of sharing Qigong and Tai Chi with others, that you will be compelled to deepen your practice as a way of reaching toward higher levels of personal performance or spiritual clarity.  People like this are fondly known as Qi Lovers.  They tend to have more vitality, which translates into more accomplishment, more fun and more peace.

Signs of Deficiency or Stagnation of Qi

     Almost everyone exhibits some signs of Qi deficiency or stagnation, even relatively healthy people.  Signs such as these serve as a gentle wake up call at first.  If you respond quickly, you can resolve minor health challenges before they become major illnesses--- often by simply enjoying Tai Chi or Qigong.  Otherwise a louder, more serious wakeup call may sound later.  The ancient Qigong classics say, 'Disorder is easiest to overcome before it starts; prevent problems before they arise.'  The following list shows some of the most common signs of deficiency and stagnation of Qi:

* fatigue
* stress, tension
* pain- joints, head, neck, back
* digestive and bowel problems
* anger, fear, worry, panic
* sickness and disease
* frequent colds, flu
* sexual or menstrual difficulties
* lung disorders
* allergies
* overly emotional states
* forgetfulness
* depression, lethargy
* anxiety, restlessness
* frustration, violence
* laziness, procrastination
* difficulty regulating body temperature
* sleeplessness
* red, pale or coated tongue
* slow, fast, weak or erratic pulse

     If you express 3 or 4 of these symptoms, an ounce of prevention is not enough.  Begin with a lighthearted, preventive practice of Qigong to neutralize health problems while they are minimal.  If you have 5 or more of the signs on this list, I would suggest a more accelerated approach to Qigong."
-The Healing Promise of Qi by Dr. Roger Jahnke

"Suggested amount of Qigong practice:

* Health maintenance:  One session per day, 10-60 minutes.
* Health improvement:  One or more sessions per day, 10-60 minutes.
* Disease prevention:  Start slowly and build up to 2 or more sessions per day, 10-60 minutes.
* Getting started:  One to three sessions per day for 5-15 minutes."

Qigong- The Mysterious Pass by Dr. Roger Jahnke from his Qi Blog- Feel the Qi

"In the tradition of Qigong it is believed that once you taste or experience one of the treasures that you are destined to pursue the cultivation of that treasure.  As you begin to deeply understand and experience your Body Essence (Jing), your Heart-Mind (Xin) or your Spirit (Shen), you will likely be inspired to cultivate them because the promise is so great.

When we cultivate Body Essence it leads to vitality and physical healing.  When we purposefully access the Heart-Mind and cultivate the treasure of the Heart-Mind Elixir it nourishes peace of mind and emotional healing.  It is a rare person who does not become attracted to having peace of mind once they have begun to experience it.

The Spirit does not require healing; Shen is inherently and supremely well.  Shen resides within the Heart-Mind longing to be revealed, expressed, and radiated.  When the Heart-Mind is cleared of its typical restraints including fear, judgement and all sorts of trauma, Shen expresses as radiance.  The cultivation of the treasure of Spirit can trigger the release of miracles.

The Heart-Mind is the secret gate through which thoughts, feelings, emotions and attitudes are cleansed and purified.  The sincere deepening of Qi cultivation practice requires that intention and will become major focus areas in practice and in life.  In ancient traditions, retiring to a cave in the mountains or going to the desert to disassociate from the material world were primary ways to pass through the secret gate.  That is why is is often called the 'Mysterious Pass'."

PLEASE ALSO TAKE THE TIME TO READ AND LISTEN TO THIS POWERFUL AND INSPIRING TEDTALK-

Jill Bolte Taylor: My Stroke of Insight (& Qigong)

“Who are we?  We are the Life Force Power (Qi- Chee) of the Universe with manual dexterity and 2 cognitive minds and we have the power to choose moment by moment who and how we want to be in the world.

Right Here, Right Now I can step into the consciousness of my right hemisphere where we are… I am the life force power of the Universe… The life force power of the 50 Trillion beautiful molecular geniuses that make up my form and is one with All that is!  Or I can choose to move into the consciousness of my left hemisphere where I become a single individual separate from the Flow separate from you—- I am Dr. Jill Bolton Taylor- Neuro-anatomist- These are the we inside of me.  Which would you choose?  Which do you choose?  And When?  I believe that the more time we choose to run the deep inner peace circuitry (the Qigong state- the Relaxation Response- the healing and restorative state) of our right hemisphere, the more peace we will project out into the world and the more peaceful we will be and the more peaceful our planet will be… And I thought that was an idea worth spreading.”- TedTalk- Dr. Jill Bolton Taylor.

Practicing Qigong gives us the tools to choose how when to run the deep inner peace circuitry and present our higher selves to the world and when we need to present our lower selves - our ego - to the world.  Both are necessary to function in the world- it’s the balance that creates health, vitality, inner peace, harmony and joy.

You are going to love this – a profound Qigong movie - In around 20 minutes you will experience one of the most beautiful “lectures with Qi” from contemporary time. See if you can pick out the Qi talk here, notice the constant reference to Yin and Yang without the words being specifically spoken. What will people do when they want to explore the mystery of their lives — they will learn and practice Qigong. Enjoy this!!!- Dr. Roger Jahnke

Tea and Qigong

Tea and Qigong Saturday 10/24/20

 Come enjoy an afternoon of Tea & Qigong This Saturday! 🍡

We will open by sitting with a balancing herbal tea to transition smoothly into the season of fall. The practice of tea is one of the most ancient practices that has been carried throughout history. It invites us to remember the nature within our bodies & natural healing that can take place when we sit with ourselves and our cup.

Following, we will be guided through a qigong practice with scott. Qigong helps us to work with the medicine present within our bodies. Following the same principals in nature that the practice of tea has. We will learn to flow and find inner peace within our day.
